Highline Thunderbirds Women's Soccer

2012 Women's Soccer Recruits

The Women's Soccer team is pleased to announce the latest student/athlete recruits for the 2012 season.  Head Coach Tom Moore  comments on what each will bring to the team.

Ashlyn Bruin
We are very excited to have Ashlyn become part of our GK team this year.  Ashlyn has tremendous potential and will most certainly add to her already successful playing career while at Highline.
Bailey Hutton
We look forward to what Bailey will bring this Fall.  She has played in many different areas of the field and had equal success.  She is a smart player with a nose for the goal and is equally effective attacking from the back as well.
Michael Paulston
I'm very excited about having Michael back in our program.  She was a part of our playoff team 2 yrs ago that lost in double overtime and I know she hasn't forgotten that.  Michael is an ultra-competitor, has great pace, and is a leader on the field.  She knows what we expect and is always willing to go the extra mile to make us better.
Emily Hanna
Emily will immediately help fill a void we lost up front last year.  She is tenacious, has good pace, a great work ethic, and is an ultimate competitor.  Emily will continue to bring a foundation of hard work and with it the success and payoff we are excited about.
Mackenzie McNeal
Mackenzie brings a will, determination, and a 'get it done' attitude that will drive our team.  Along with her pace and ability to play both sides of the ball, Mackenzie will help make this recruiting class very competitive.
Karissa Ritter
We are glad to have Karissa join us at Highline and believe she will be a great addition.  Her willingness to be a part of the program in any aspect will put her in position to compete for a spot on the back line or midfield.  She has a great feel for the game and her ability to score on free kicks and dangerous corners is huge.

Highline Women' Soccer All-Stars

(NWAACC Women's Soccer North-West Region)
(comments from Head Coach Tom Moore)
Katie LaBorde (defender)
"A transfer student athlete from PLU this  season who was a great addition to the   team.  Katie's intensity, desire, and will to do the best she could in any situation has given her the opportunity to play in the all-star game and I'm extremely happy for her at this moment."
Dani Streuli  (defender)

"Making the all-star team for a second year in a row has put her among an elite  group here at Highline College as only a select few women have been able to accomplish that.  Dani has been a standout player, captain, and teammate these last two seasons.  I will be sad to see her leave, glad to have been a part of her experience in life, and excited to watch her move on and be successful."

Sadie Phonpadith (midfielder)

"I've been fortunate have coached Sadie for two seasons now, one with club (last year) and now one for the college.  She has been a tremendous addition and I'm just so glad she came out this year to play.  She has earned every part of this selection to the all-star team.  She is a dual-enrolled student athlete who is attending the University of Washington and I'm very proud of her for being so committed to this program throughout the year. "
