From the WSU Athletics Department announcement "Vasquez is a 5-11 outside hitter from Spanaway, Wash., who will receive her AA degree from Highline Community College this June after attending Bethel High and graduating from Graham Kapowsin High School. Vasquez played two years at HCC for Coach Chris Littleman, earning first team All-Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges honors as a freshman, and was NWAACC Player of the Year as a sophomore. Vasquez led the NWAACC in kills and was second in hitting percentage in 2010, and was second in kills per game in 2011 when the Highline team won the league title. Vasquez was tabbed with the president's award for having over a 3.5 grade point average in 2011. She will pursue courses in pre-med at WSU." |
